This is Ethan or Buzz-Ethan as he would say.    He was so much fun to photograph this weekend.  He was quick so we had to keep up, but the pictures came out great.  The Buzz action figure was a nice touch.  His mom also brought his red wagon from home so we were able to have some fun with that prop too.

Happy Birthday Caitlyn!

Caitlyn is turning two this month. Hooray for Caitlyn!  She was so much fun to photograph.  She spent some time investigating the studio, just to make sure we were on the up and up.  Somebody's gotta look after Mom and Dad. 

INT Eastern Regional Invintational.

Last week, we spent 3 days photographing a water sports tournament.  It's hard to even call it work.  The participants of this organization are competitive but still like to have fun.  Four states competed for trophies in many different divisions.  The tournament is based on skill level not age so it's not uncommon to see a nine year old doing the same trick as an adult.  And these tricks are really cool.  Here are some pictures from the competition.

I had a great time at Charlie Goodnights this past Sunday night.  The headlining comedian was Brad Reeder.  He had a unique act where here combined magic with his comedy.  Now this is no show for kids; the magic isn't that great, just the jokes that go along with the tricks.   Brad wasn't the only performer.  There were 2 others who did about a 20 minute bit each.  We spent three hours laughing.  It was so much fun.  Well I bet you wondering how to get free tickets.

Bundles of Energy.

Thanks for visiting our studio!  Steve and I truly enjoyed photographing your kids. They are absolutely adorable.  Issac and Noel were so much fun.  Rhonda, you have her hands full with her those two bundles of energy. 

Fresh outta the oven.

It takes a little preparation and a lot of patience to capture these precious moments.

First, we prepped Kenna, the proud mommy, to bring personal items from home (the hat and blanket are special to her).  We gathered some small props to help with posing, then heated the studio to about 80 degrees.  That kept Ava comfortable and so she would sleep most of the time. (Just one of the perks of a private studio).  Her mom kept her happy and and ready for the next pose.  Thanks Kenna!  Looking forward to watching her grow this first year.

Makenzie was a joy to photograph.  We read her books and played with some toys and I even learned a few of her 2 year old words.  She also had a broad spectrum of expressions which really made me laugh.  She would be smiling one second and the next she would give a fake pouty face.  She thought she was funny too.  Thanks for being so cute Makenzie!  

 The best shots come from just letting a kid be a kid.

Wow! What an event. The INT league offers slalom, wakeboard and kneeboard competitions.  All INT divisions are based on ability.  Those who improve quickly bump up through the divisions.  I'm sure these riders will move up in no time.  Every athlete was amazing, floating over wakes, spinning and flying through the air.

We had a great time at your Spring Carnival.  It was fun to watch the games, especially the dunk tank and the food was delicious.  Your children are full of personality and we enjoyed photographing them.

Spring Has Sprung! Free Spring Session Through May 30th!

Hi, Jen again.  The best part of a Spring Portrait Session is that you never need a backdrop,  mother nature makes a perfect one.  Steve and I would be happy to meet you at your home or favorite park to get some great pictures of the family, some shots of just the kids or even if your pets are your kids (-:  Spring is a great time for best friend and engagement photos.  Visit a state park this weekend and let us know where the best backdrops are.

Hi, this is Jen from J & S Photography.  I can't believe a week ago Steve and I were running studios, training photographers and hiring sales people.
